Komachi Hall held an event for hall members to make flags to represent their floors. After some brain storming, we created a flag with four different characters from Winnie the Pooh. The four characters symbolize the fourth floor. Our quote from the beloved fiction, which can be read in the sun, is referencing our unique and differing backgrounds. The green field and purple flowers boast our green and purple floor colors. I only have pictures of our flag, but I was really amazed at how all of the flags turned out!
Heading to the mall for dinner, Ashley and I unexpectedly ran into Tuna, who studied abroad at Gonzaga during my freshman year, and who has since graduated from AIU. Tuna joined us for dinner at a Chinese restaurant. After, we went to the arcade and looked at some pups in the pet shop. Something that will shock you American readers - at the arcade, if you ask a worker to move the prize inside of the crane game, they will do it for you!
On Sunday I went shopping with Reina to get ingredients for a seven layer bean dip and takoyaki (like fried octopus balls). While shopping, I came across some interesting items that we wouldn't typically see in an American grocery store, so I took a couple pictures.
Reina has a cooking device that has a takoyaki mold, so I learned how to prepare a Japanese food with her. However, since I'm not the biggest fan of seafood, we bought a few other ingredients along with the octopus. In some takoyaki, we substituted the octopus with sausage, and and in another creation, we used kimchi and cooked cheese around the outside. It was delicious and a lot of fun.
